Oaths and Solemn Declarations

At the start of the hearing, the interpreter is asked to swear an Oath or to make a Solemn Declaration to declare that they are going to speak the truth. The interpreter is also requested to interpret the statement into the applicant’s language, allowing the applicant to repeat it word for word. It is very important that you are prepared for this.

These texts are taken from the Workplace Relations Commission website, and thus mention WRC, but you can replace WRC with the name of the other relevant authority when you are practicing:
